I’m Kelly O’Mara, the former editor-in-chief of Triathlete Magazine. I left in mid-2022 and launched my own newsletter, Triathlonish—which aims to cover our sports with the same news and analysis mainstream sports get.

While at Triathlete, I won the award for outstanding media contribution for women in triathlon. I also launched a number of new initiatives for the company (Outside Inc.), including a ground-breaking partnership with USA Triathlon, a successful membership program, an inclusive digital community, and a profitable virtual event.

Today, I’m the content director for Feisty Media, a women’s health and sports company that tells active women’s stories through podcasts, newsletters, live events, and educational workshops. Previously, I was the editor for a local newspaper and website, a producer for the radio station, and a writer for a number of publications you’ve heard of and some you haven’t.

In addition to working behind-the-scenes in production and media, I was a pro triathlete (on and off) since picking up the sport in college at UC Berkeley. And I’ve tried nearly every one of our sports you can try: Spartan Race, Swimrun, Crossfit, running on anything you can run on, all forms of biking, swimming, cross-country skiing, and random adventures my friends and I make up.
